Oh yea I remember doing that we were pioneering it was hot outside and we just drove around talking laughing and sitting in the car while one person would get out and leave some mags at the laundromat. what a waste of time but the seeds of escape were already sprouting.

When going in Street work who left mags at laundry mats?
by foolsparadise inwe would go to laundry mats and leave magazines for people to read and actually count them as placements.
the funny thing is there would already be watchtowers in the laundry mat so we would just take them and leave ours and still count them.

Who's old enough to remember Queen for a Day?
by Nickolas inwhen i was a kid back in the late 50's / early 60's (yes, i am very old, now let's move on) there was a television program that capitalised on the lives of miserable women.
it was my mom's favourie.
each day monday to friday there would be four women on the show, each with a sad story to tell.

I remember queen for a day. Do you remember the millionaire Michael anthony who would get his instructions to give a million dollars to some unsuspecting person with the condition that they never reveal where it came from?

I've figured out the cause of all the recent turmoil on JWN....
by Mr. Falcon inever since i've started posting here regularly, there has been upheaval, threats of leaving and threats of banning by many active contributors.
people have spoken their minds and have been chastised; people have attacked others and threads have been locked.. well, after reading my bible, i've determined the cause of all this.

Sylvia,
now that I'm older and I've had my share of health scares and pain issues I,ve discovered that mostly you get better after a while you think omg am I going to die or be sick like this for the rest of my life and than for some reason you get better until the next time.
so more than likely this will past by after you've had your share of pain and suffering. So yea #**#+##@**!

i have learned some important lessons in my life. i wasn't raised as a jw, it's not the only thing in my life that turned sour. Finally i appreciate the concept of "the personal journey". I don't regret having tried out lot's of ideas and fully immersed myself in each one only to find it wasn't the truth and that I had been lied to. From 12 yrs of catholic school to radical groups to communes to jw's now I think I,m finished with group activities. Now I,m reading and thinking about anything interesting and if i find something that makes sense before I die fine if not I'll just enjoy the search.

Moving 1000 miles in 28 days need suggestions
by TotallyADD inas many know my wife and i will be moving and starting a new business this summer.
in many ways it will bring freedom to us for no one knows us where we are moving.
being a born-in i would like to ask all of you what are some great ways we can meet new people and make friendships outside the jw cult?

I just looked back at my post and I wrote living instead of leaving the wtbs. I meant abandon it and start a new life we did meet a couple and went out to dinner with them and we met them by attending the christmas party at our apt complex.

We moved 1500 miles away last october, it was alot of work but absolutely worth it.
Nobody knows us here and we haven't met very many people being naturally a bit reclusive. It's great here by the ocean alot of new things to see and do. We were living on auto pilot before now everything is different and different is good. My husband had lived in our old city since he was ten yrs old and had never lived out of state so its been a big adventure for him and I didn't grow up in that state but had been there for 35 yrs.
I recommend living the wtbs and than further cleansing by bolting off to a new location it gives you that high feeling of "I'm starting a new life"
